Each country’s government strongly regulates what a pharmaceutical distributor can send to their country. It’s important to understand the laws of your region before ordering. Keep in mind, ignorance isn’t bliss; it’s your responsibility to understand the restrictions before placing an order with an out-of-country distributor.

Phenobarbital

Phenobarbital is legal in the United States. It classifies as a barbiturate, which means it acts as a nervous system depressant. It’s used for patients who have anxiety, insomnia, or convulsions. This kind of medication isn’t prescribed as commonly as it once was in the U.S. because physicians tend to favor benzodiazepines tranquilizers because they’re safer. Oversea countries have banned this medication because of its high potential for abuse as well as the possibility of an overdose.

Codeine

Codeine is a substance prescribed in the U.S. for pain relief. Physicians also prescribe it as a cough suppressant. It classifies as an opiate. For the treatment of mild to moderate pain, it’s commonly found as a compound drug along with acetaminophen. On the other hand, it’s used with promethazine or pseudoephedrine as a cough suppressant. This drug, however, is illegal in Indonesia and some other locations in Asia.

Soma

Soma is a medication that acts on the central nervous system. It’s a muscle relaxant. Patients are only to use it on a short-term basis because it’s a highly addictive substance. Generally, doctors prescribe it while a patient is in physical therapy. Physicians don’t commonly prescribe this drug in the U.S. because of other options that are safer. In other countries though, this medication isn’t on the market. For instance, both Sweden and Norway banned it because of how it could be potentially fatal and addictive.

Tramadol

Tramadol is similar in nature to narcotic pain medications in the U.S. It treats moderate to severe pain. In the U.S., it’s now considered to be a controlled substance. This particular medication alters the way a person’s brain responds to pain. It replaces a person’s natural endorphins. Since it doesn’t have the same chemical composition as opiates, it was originally not considered to be a narcotic. It is, however, addictive. It’s also possible to overdose or experience breathing difficulties if taken in excess. Egypt has a problem with tramadol misusage.

Many drugs that doctors prescribe in the U.S. are illegal in other countries. It’s vital to understand the laws in your country before importing any substance from a pharmaceutical distributor. It could lead to legal implications.
